I never knew a weekend could go so fast! It didn't even feel like a weekend! I need another 3 days just to re-group and relax!! Don't get me wrong, it was a fantastic weekend, Tuesday is just around the corner!

Friday, work was just horrible. The upside was we had Jimmy John's for lunch! I am very thankful they opened one in our building! So amazing!! After work, I rushed home and starting cooking up a fiesta! We had a few friends over and instead of grilling we made tacos. It was so delicious! It hit the spot! We then spent the rest of the evening outside, enjoying some spectacular weather! The men threw around the football around, while the kids ran around or tried to walk! It was an awesome night to be outside with great company.

Saturday morning came way to quickly in my book. We got up, boxed up a few things and Michael picked up the U-Haul truck! My parents headed over and my dad and Michael took a nice size load to storage and the moved quite a few things of my parents out of storage. We all then headed to my parents house to help unload. After a quick lunch, we sped home and got changed. We made our way to the Chase's and had a complete blast! The kids (Michael included) had so much fun playing in the pool, taking turns on the water slide, throwing water balloons and just playing. Before we knew it, it was 8 o'clock. I have no idea where the time went. We did try the new Dominio's pizza, and I will have to say, big improvement! I am pretty sure we tried it with the Trimbles but it still shocks me that it tastes good! We got home right when David pulled up! Good timing! Michael and David headed to a movie while I got a nice relaxing evening alone! Well it was only from 9 till about 11 but oh well! I'll take the time I can get!

Sunday morning came around so quickly because we completely slept in. All of us. Even Jake, 10 o'clock came and I sat straight up in bed! So obviously we didn't make it to church. Our bad. Apparently we were all exhausted and needed sleep. After Michael made brunch, we got everything together and went to the park. After a few hours, Jake was ready for a nap! Crazy since he got up at 10 but whatever. The boys played a little of their computer game that drives me a-wall as I got something done around the house. We then went to my parents hosue to help move some of the things from storage, upstairs. Definitley needed 3 men! We chatted a bit, went grocery shopping, picked up some dinner and got home around 7:30. I am still not quite sure what we did after that, but oh well. Wait! We watched the storm roll in! The lightning and thunder was crazy!

Monday (today!), is a holiday! Woo hoo! Means no work! I tried to get caught up on everything and I do think I did most of it. Before we knew it we were heading to our favorite house for dinner! Ok, so maybe the chicken wasn't done all the way, and I have issues today because of it, but it was still a blast as usual. The smores were amazing of course! I was just exhausted by the time we got home. I am sure that tomorrow is going to be a pain to get up and face. I need the rest of the week off to make up for this weekend! I can already see work is going to be a downer tomorrow. The day after a holiday always is! Let's hope this week goes by fast!!

Here are some photos from this weeekend!

Yes blog neglector! I apologize! I have been extremely busy! Let's see, updates. Nothing new right?

WE ARE EXPECTING!! Ok, it's out there now! Haha. We had an ultrasound on Tuesday and saw the little one jumping around like a spazz! The tech was trying to measure and do all that and it wouldn't stop moving! We are currently 11 almost 12 weeks! Due December 11. We are more than excited about this!! So that is our major news!

House. We are getting there! We are moving some things to storage this weekend. I am so excited! On more huge load and I think we are good! Now comes all the fun parts. Hopefully by mid June this will all fall into place!

Other than that nothing much is going on! Have a great weekend planned and welcoming the extra day off!

24 May 2010

This weekend we headed over and up to Denison. Laurel was released from the hospital pretty quickly and everyone is home and adjusting! It was a lot of fun seeing everyone. It's been a while since we have all been able to be together. Usually we are missing someone. David came up Friday and stayed for the weekend too. Bonus! Claire is such a doll. She is definitely a girly girl in a world full of crazy boys. It was so weird holding a little baby. Everytime, I do, i can't remember Jake being that small. He was at one time. That is what is sad. Now he is almost 3. Time just breezes through extremely fast. For a break, we took the boys to the school to play. It was extremely hot out. The walk there wasn't too bad. Didn't even think about the walk home at that time. The boys played for about an hour or so and then we headed back. Yikes. Totally didn't realize the walk to the park was completely down hill. They walk back, well, lets just say all the adults were dripping in sweat and the kids were complaining because they were hot and tired of walking. We eventually made it back and survived. Water never tasted so good! We had to leave earlier than we would have liked due to pests...I mean pets, that had to be let out. It was a good trip and it was fantastic seeing the new niece!

Other than that the weekend was pretty tame. Running errands, and keeping up with Jake was about it. Here are a few pics from our trip.

Stressful beyond words

This is a really lame post. Be warned. I'm not much about TV shows. I have my favorites: GLEE, The Office, and Grey's. Grey's Anatomy this evening was way to unhealthy for me. I have never been so anxious and stressed in my entire life. Ok, that is exaggerating but you get the idea. I will not spoil it for anyone who has it DVR'd but sitting on the edge of my seat, waiting for things to unfold in an epic 2 hour TV show probably gave me a few wrinkles. Between the probably 200+ text messages I was sending back and forth to people and a husband who kept covering his eyes, I feel like I need a day at the spa to relax. Who comes up with these scenarios?! In the worlds of Meredith, "Seriously?!" I think I said that word a record number of times during this 2 hour event. Not to mention I missed the season finale of The Office while my heart felt like it was going to beat out of my chest! Hopefully that finale will not be as nail biting as this one was.

That is all. I need to go calm down now!

Amazing dinner!

Tonight I got home and whipped a fantastic meal. One the menu was meatloaf, garlic potatoes and green bean casserole! It was amazing! The flavors burst on my tongue and they all complimented each other well. I think I would not put as much mustard for the topping as they say to use. Actually, I used less then the recipe called for anyways but even less next time! I have a photo but it's from my phone so it's not the greatest of quality. It doesn't do the meal justice! I will definitely be making this delicious meal again!

18 May 2010

An aunt, again!

I think I am a little over excited because for once, and finally, we have a little girl in this huge mix of boys! Claire Emery Olsen was born May 18th, in a record birth of a little over 2 hours! She is 7lbs 9 oz, 19 1/2 inches long and is utterly adorable!! They boys seem to have fallen in love with her already! I cannot wait to see her this weekend! Sorry Michael, but I need to go shopping. I am so excited!!

Caleb also being the adorable little cuddle bug he is, got to go home yesterday! He's so precious and sweet! I am so thankful he bounced back! He is definitely a miracle baby! =)

14 May 2010

Another week in the books. Although, I wasn't at work at all. Which I feel horrible about. I hate leaving work for others to do. I just felt that it was better to be with family and just be able to be accessible. Back to a full work week next week. Sadly, I have a feeling it will be hard to get use to.
Caleb is doing well. Kelly got to hold him and feed him. It was so sweet. He is such an adorable little love bug. He had his eyes open and was looking all around. He's been doing really well with his feedings and he is just a sweet little thing!

Today I took the day off. I was going to probably have to take another half day anyways. It just made sense to take a full day. Eli stayed with my parents last night. My dad and him had a little camp out in the living room. So cute! This morning, Jake and I got up, ate breakfast and played for a while and then headed over to my moms. As she got ready, I took the boys outside and we played and played and played. I finally broke out the bubbles in order to catch a break! We then packed up the boys and headed over to McDonald's. We got the boys their Happy Meals and headed to the park. After a carbo-load of a lunch, we spent a few hours playing on the playground. For some reason today, I felt like a kid and participated a little too much. I think I was channeling Michael. It was a lot of fun and the boys had a blast running off steam. We then headed back to my parents house and we all took a nap. That was amazing. Next thing I knew it was 3:30 and we had to head out. It was such a fun day and the boys loved being able to be together. They are so cute together.

Although, now I'm beat. I think this week has taken a lot of me. Everyone. Michael is getting ready to head out to a movie and I am looking forward to a quiet house tonight! Time to kick back and relax!

B l a h

I'm beat. All I want to do is sleep. I could sleep for a week. I swear.

Caleb - he had to have a blood transfusion last night to regulate his blood pressure. Honestly, I don't think the doctors quite know anything, so of course, we know nothing. His swelling is still where it was at yesterday. I know they were looking forward to it going down a little bit. Kelly finally did get to see him. That is a plus. He is going to have to have another transfusion tonight. His hemoglobin is pretty low. They are going to do a CT tomorrow morning. We just have to keep praying. Praying for a speedy recovery and praying for my sister. I couldn't even imagine not being able to hold your child immediately and just the bonding process. I know it's starting to hit her. It's just a tough situation all the way around. I, and I know everyone else, just want to know what's going on. Power of prayer is what is getting everyone through. It has been a tough week for everyone. My mom had something funky going on with her voice today, so she couldn't go to the hospital. My dad stopped by after work. Michael is going to come down with me tomorrow evening. I hope my mom feels better ASAP. I know it's killing her not being able to be there.

Nothing else is really going on. Besides it's raining again. I like in Forks. Except there are no hot Vampire/Werewolves running around. That is the whole point of loving Forks.

New nephew!!

After a long, exhausting day for all parties involved, Caleb made his debut. He is currently in the NICU but is doing well. I swear we still don't know all that is going on, but we've just been praying for a speedy recovery for him and my sister! We are very blessed to have another baby to spoil with love!

Good day when...

1) You can spend $57 at Target over lunch on unnessesary things.
2) Have Derrick yell "COP" in the backseat as I floor Ruby. He saved me from a ticket.
3) Having a one on one about chickens, no joke
4) Having Josie "get down" in Ruby
5) When Derrick hits the high note on "Somebody to Love" by GLEE, I pull out bubbles and blow a few in the car.

The week went by extremely fast. Still no babies. On either side. Keeping my fingers crossed that at least Baby Girl Olsen makes her appearance this weekend.

Cinco de Mikey

2 batches of my brownies are in the oven. To Josie's liking, they are de-squizzled. So that means she has to eat some! One pan still might be used as a leverage to get Katie back. We will have to see how nice I feel in the morning!

Happy Early Birthday Mikey!

Also forgot!

I was just rudely, yes, I will say rudely reminded that I didn't write about my wonderful start to my day today. Last night I could fall asleep, so around 10:30, I decided to paint my nails. I woke up at 2:30 with my left hand attached to my face. I fell asleep before my nails could dry and my four fingers were stuck to my cheek. A couple cotton swabs of finger nail polish remover later, it was off. It was still a first for me. Something I never want to repeat.

Alone....sort of

Michael has a class Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. It goes from 5pm-9pm. This means a couple of things.

1) I have to entertain my 2 year old while trying to get caught up on house chores that have been slacking due to us never being home! Especially since Marilyn is coming over tomorrow night. Eshk! My plan is to take him outside for about an hour, wear him out, feed him dinner and then let him wind down to a half hour showing of Cailou.

2) Dogs. Hawkeye has been going through this stage. It's not a good stage. Basically the Lab howls the second he realizes Michael is gone. Does he stop? No. If you put him in his kennel he barks and then howls. It never ends. I don't know what the deal is with that dog and Michael. So odd. Plus "the rat" as we call her, gets into everything. That or she is beating up the cat somewhere. I live in a zoo.

3) The Cat. I have never met a cat that will willingly knock over whatever he wants to, no matter the size. He has the strength of a panther. He knocked over the banana holder with 7 bananas on it last night. On Saturday, he knocked over Michael's tool belt because he jumped into it. He wanted to bat at the screws. Not to mention last week when he took Michael's iPod and ran off with it. This is a cat people! Again, I live in a zoo.

4) Lack of motivation. What is that word? I have none of it. At work today, I kept thinking maybe, just maybe, it would surface. Ummm, no. It's been MIA for about 2 weeks and it needs to return. So I am hoping the motivation picks up so I can get some stuff done at home. Work, eh, we don't need to work hard! LoL! I can work at a snails pace and still key enough in a day. I hope at least. Ugh, motivation needs to return. Plus I feel like we are teaching them a little lesson. We aren't machines! Sometimes I feel like they expect so much out of us. Maybe it's just me!

5) Distractions. Numbers 1-4 are enough of a distraction but I have more. For instance, House is new. It's probably 1 out of the 3 shows I can keep up with now a days. The rest are going to be either listened to online or just watched when the season come out to buy. Also having The Office on from 5:30-7 is no help whatsoever. I will just have to let it be on and keep on working.

*******************************************************************************
UPDATE:

I started writing this when I got home. I would like to report the following:
1) Jake is being extremely good and I completely wore him down outside!
2) Hawkeye is just laying around instead of howling! I can take that!
3) Zoey ran around outside the whole time with Jake, so she is done in for the evening! Thank goodness!
4) Somehow I gained motivation and cleaned up the whole main floor. Yikes. I even did it in 30 minutes. Crazy what happens when you put your mind to it!
5) I will be able to watch House because I am done with everything I wanted to do and then some! I feel like a kid who gets a reward for doing chores.

Over and out.

02 May 2010

Another weekend gone by....

I am exhausted. I think I could have slept all day. I took a 3 hour nap this afternoon and it still was not enough.

Friday evening we spent with our favorite people! Well, minus one extremely tall bald man. I found others to fill in the gap. We went to the Iowa Cubs game. It was a gorgeous night at the ball park. The storms finally cleared up and the sun was shinning bright. Although the announcer to the game said: "It's a beautiful evening for some baseball. Mostly cloudy with little sunshine". There was all but 2 clouds in the sky and the sun was beaming down. I don't get it. Oh well. The boys were having a great time! They got dip-n-dots, peanuts and some baseball bats! We didn't win the game. We did have a fantastic time. The fireworks display was awesome and just spending time with those 3 makes anything worth it!

Saturday, I don't know where the day went. Before we knew it we were getting ready to head to Alicia and Brian's wedding! It was amazing. She looked absolutely stunning! She always does. She had that bridal glow. You could just tell how happy she was. They are an amazing couple and I am so happy for them. It is always a joy to participate in watching two become one. I cry every time. It's horrible. Also hearing Jen's speech made me cry. They have been besties forever and you can't put a price on that! It was great seeing friends we can't see that often and it was a great night!

Today, well, we have been bums. We skipped church (sorry) because we were so tired from this weekend. Michael is still really sore from his accident this week. Plus I think he re-activated it pulling out his dance moves last night. If you don't know about his accident, this week he was working at a job site and the drywall guys moved some stairs. Michael didn't know the stairs had been moved and he fell out the front door. Landed on his side and has pretty much been in pain all week! This morning he could barely move. The only thing we did today was go grocery shopping. I think I did a few loads of laundry and loaded this dishwasher. We are just pooped. I can't believe tomorrow is Monday. I need another day off!

Things to look forward to this week:
1) Laurel is due Wednesday!! Hopefully Baby Girl will come before Mother's Day!
2) Mother's Day!!!! We have been waiting for this day for weeks. I can't wait for it to be here! The whole weekend in general.
3) Pictures. We have to print off some photos major this week. We are sending family and friends we don't get to see much updated photos. I am a little excited about that.
4) Bible Study! About time we can finally go!
5) Just getting to spend another week with my boys!
